Shabu Plus Rotary Hot Pot Wicker Park is a hot pot in Chicago, Illinois. It is listed at 1352 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60622, which places it among the local businesses of Chicago that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 12–10 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (773) 697-8122. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is rotaryshabu.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 991 reviews, which is a strong result for a hot pot in Chicago and suggests consistent service.

Everything was so tasty and fun! Having never done hot pot before I was a little intimidated but our server explained everything to us nicely and it all made sense. You have to get the ribeye it’s insane. 10/10

Walked in before 6 on a Friday, which I’m glad we did because it was not that busy yet. Food was good. I highly recommend the sukiyaki broth - flavorful and delicious. The employee greeted us as soon as we walked in and went over the menu with us. Our server was very kind and attentive. We will definitely be back!

This is my new favorite place. I'm obsessed. I fall asleep at night counting plates on the conveyor belt instead of sheep. I've gotten both the ultimate course and the weekday lunch special. Prices are reasonable and customizable, like you could spend $200 on a family dinner feast with lots of great drinks or $30 on solo lunch. I love the single seating bar area. Service is quick and always friendly. Servers are happy to chat and help out if you're unfamiliar with hot pot. The food is fresh and tasty with many soup and sauce options. Just fabulous. I fully intend on filling out my punch card and coming back for their birthday special. I did once get a shrimp that wasn't completely deveined. I left it to the side without complaint and wasn't charged for leftovers. The staff is very reasonable and accommodating, they just don't want you to over order and waste big portions. My only real complaint is that they have Pepsi products instead of Coke, and charge $3.50 - $4 for a soda. But you get it in a bottle that you can take home, so that's nice. Not worth losing a star over. Just know only water is included with all the course pricing, no matter what tier you pick.

This place is very fun! Love the rotary aspect, lots of items in the menu, drinks (NA and alcohol), great place for kids even if they aren’t big eaters! It’s an experience for them. I came here on a Sunday around 1pm and there were three of us. We got the lower priced package which was $34/ person, under 6 is free. It was meat heavy, but the veggies / lots of fish options come through on the conveyer belt. I didn’t think that the veggies were very fresh or that there were enough veggie options. They didn’t have white potatoes, or tofu balls. If you’re more into hotpot for the veggie delight this place might not be right for you. We got the spam fries which were good and very hot, a side of fries for my kiddo, and the steak sushi (fully cooked steak on a rolled rice). I got a hot tea, which tasted like fish water. And a sparkling water that was good. Overall it was an experience, I did smell like stock when I left but it was good.

I was so stoked to try this place. I had to add my name to a waitlist for a party of one and they would call me when my table was ready. It was about a 20-minute wait. But then I was seated at the counter next to another single. I ordered the top package which was everything (including all the meats) and dessert. You get 90minutes total and use an ipad in front of you to add meats and it comes via a train. You can also mix your own sauces at their sauce bar. There are some great options. I made my own and tried one of the housemade sauces. The RIBEYE was my favorite of everything I ate. All the food was fresh, easy to cook, and amazing. It doesn't fill you up too quickly so you can try plenty of items. There are something like 60+ items on the conveyor belt to try. Most give you instructions on how long to cook in your hot pot broth. You can get your broth refilled as it evaporates too....and drinks are extra, except for water, which is ice cold and such a welcome treat with one of the spicy sauces I tried. I also had the mango pudding dessert, which resembles a little character...so cute! I will go back and would love to visit with friends to make it more of a social engagemen
